Black Love Interactive will never rent, share, or sell your private, personally-identifiable data to any individual or organization outside of Black Love Interactive. Whether you are a first time visitor or a long-time subscriber, we will use your private, personally-identifiable data for only one purpose: providing you with the best possible user experience while you are visiting our sites and virtual worlds.

We Secure Your Private Data

We do not collect private, personally-identifiable data without your explicit consent. You have the option to tell us your email address and choose a username (which may or may not represent your real name, but will be associated with your real public IP address) so that you can register on our network of adult media sites.

Registration allows you to use exclusive services on our network of sites (such as signing up to receive a newsletter or creating a free personals ad). You do not need to register to visit our sites or access most of our editorial content. Registration for exclusive members-only services is entirely optional. If you choose to register, we collect only 4 required pieces of private data (your username, password, IP address, and email address) over a secure, 256-bit encrypted connection. You can delete your account at any time.

Your password is, of course, saved in a hashed format that is not readable by humans (even our sysadmins). Incidentally, we will never ask for (or supply you with) your permanent password via email, chat, or internal instant message systems.

We Utilize Secure Third Party Payment Processors

Your payment information, such as credit card, billing and shipping information, are never stored on our internal company servers. For your safety and discretion, all purchases are processed through secure, reputable third party payment processors.

We Record As Little Personal Data As Possible

We aim to provide the most discreet and anonymous online experience that we can offer, while still providing practical security and user authentication features to protect your online identity at our sites (such as requiring a successful login before someone can post with your username on our forums, edit your personals ad, or reply to users who contacted you via our internal messaging system).

We Collect Anonymous Web Traffic Data

Our sites utilize browser cookies and web traffic analytics software to track and improve the usability and content of our sites. Your clicks and useful information provided by your web browser (such as the type of browser and screen resolution you use) are logged in a large database of anonymous information (it is anonymous because the data you generate at our site is aggregated together with the data from all of our other visitors). We use this data to identify large-scale trends in site usage (such as which pages are most popular and which pages visitors enter or leave our site from). We do not use this data to track or report on the activities of individual users.

We are telling you about our web traffic analytics in case you want to be treated as a "new visitor" each time that you access our site. Simply delete the cookies stored on your computer (most web browsers have a handy feature to help you do this) after each visit to a Black Love Interactive site so that our system will not recognize you as a repeat visitor when you return. This technique works on any site that utilizes cookie-based tracking if you are adamant that your anonymous browsing data NOT be aggregated accurately (indicating you are a repeat visitor versus a new visitor). This is a consumer choice that you have, but we certainly appreciate if you allow our cookies to identify your traffic stream as a "repeat visitor" for maximum data accuracy.

Also, this site uses a tool which collects your requests for pages and passes elements of them to search engines (like Google) to assist them in indexing this site. We control the configuration of the tool and are responsible for any information sent to the search engines.

We Compile and Sell Anonymous Data in Market Research Reports

To help grow the interactive adult entertainment market and shape the industry to better match consumer preferences, we compile, analyze, and sell the anonymous traffic and usage data described above. In these market research reports, we also compile and analyze opt-in poll, survey and profile data (described below) provided voluntarily by some of our site visitors.

We are only interested in identifying, tracking, and reporting on the large-scale trends of the interactive online adult entertainment industry. What you personally did that one day last November on two of our sites at 3 AM in the morning is really nobody's business but your own (and frankly we don't know who would care to see the information for each of our visitors laid out in a user-by-user format). Market reports are all about trends and aggregate data, and they really can help companies create better, more usable web services for your benefit. 

We Collect "Opt-In" Survey and Poll Data

On several of our sites, you will find optional Polls and Surveys which allow you to answer questions. Poll and Survey data is aggregated (much like web traffic data) so that we can cite large-scale trends and preferences. We do not use this data to associate historical preference data with your registered member account for the purpose of serving you "behavior-targeted advertising" because we prefer context-targeted marketing techniques which match features and advertising to whatever on-page content and activities you are interacting with in real time. We do not try to intuit your preferences from random past browsing, polls, surveys, search terms, or any related historical data. Polls and Surveys are not utilized on our networks for invasive behavioral-targeted advertising. We are interested in your Poll and Survey data so that we can predict market demand for new features, services, content, and other service improvements.

We Collect Optional Profile Data

As a registered member, you may provide us with optional profile data about your offline personality, preferences, and attributes, as well as optional profile data about each of your online aliases. Keeping the offline profile and online alias profiles separate allows visitors to maintain their desired online persona while helping us gather accurate market information (for example, it may be useful for people who want to be represented in our market research as a person of one gender even though they primarily play online avatars of another gender). Privacy settings are available for you to control the visibility of your profile data.

Entering offline profile data is completely optional. Entering online alias profile data is completely optional too. When we do analyze the data you provide in these profiles, it will once again be used to identify large-scale trends. It will never be used to target individual users with invasive "behavioral-targeted advertising." You can delete your own profile data at any time.

For example, we may report statistics about our visitors' offline gender that indicate the approximate percentage of our visitors who self-identify as male, female, transgender or genderqueer. Additionally, to put the numbers in perspective, we would also report on the approximate percentage of our visitors who provided us with their offline gender data (perhaps only 10% of our visitors will enter this data so we will try to present the respondant's data in the most accurate context possible). Essentially, we will be using this composite data to represent our visitors so we can better serve them and advocate for the adult media they support. Our market research reports are not compiled exclusively for the adult entertainment industry-- they are designed to also be useful for human sexuality researchers.

The first goal of our market research is to accurately summarize and represent YOUR adult media preferences and YOUR unique sexual and gender identity, in your own words whenever possible. We want to aggregate and report this kind of market research so that the people who create adult entertainment understand WHO YOU ARE and WHAT YOU REALLY WANT. We want to see more variety and increased quality in interactive adult entertainment but we know that won't happen until the producers get an accurate view of the kinds of people who are interested in sexy online interactive entertainment products and services (and how many of us there really are). We Offer "Opt-In" Newsletters and Feeds

Registered users can sign up for any of our available newsletters. Newsletters arrive in your inbox with discreet subject lines, but do include adult content and advertisements in the body of the newsletter. You can unsubscribe yourself from any newsletter at any time. All users can subscribe to our RSS Feeds, and you may unsubscribe from them at any time. Our feeds include adult content and may include advertisements.

We Send Registered Users Occasional Emails

Upon registering with our sites, you will receive a first email to confirm that you are the owner of the email account you provided during the registration. Once your email address is confirmed, you will receive a Welcome email after your account is activated on our system. After that point you can expect very low-volume, discreetly worded service disruption, policy change, and security related email communications. We will not include any advertising or adult content in these confirmation, welcome, service disruption, policy change, or security related communications. However, as noted above, we may include advertising in our opt-in newsletters.

We Do Not Use Behavioral Targeting to Serve Ads

Our ad campaign options (which will be available to sponsors in Q1 2010) will published on our business-to-business services site for everyone to see. We position in-text and module-position ads based on the surrounding on-page editorial content. We position header ads based on the target audience for a particular site on our network. We do not sell ad campaigns built around behavioral targeting profiles culled from historical preference data.

Thus, if a visitor is looking at Content A, they will see ads relevant to Content A on those pages. We do NOT position ads based on YOUR optional profile data or past actions on our sites or external sites (for example, if you click-through an advertisement for a foot-fetish super-site we aren't going to record that and spam you with more foot-fetish ads on the misguided assumption that you will be interested in foot-fetish content every fucking moment of the rest of your life). However, if you are reading a review about a foot-fetish product available in a certain virtual world, there will probably be relavant foot-fetish ads positioned on-page with the foot-fetish content. This means that you can browse freely across our network without worrying that a quick peek at a taboo article or freaky forum post will forever taint your user experience with unwanted "behaviorally-targeted" ads. Our ads are associated with our content and features, not your personal data.

This is a very different advertising approach than behavioral targeting where advertisements are served based on a visitor's PAST BEHAVIOR (with little or no regard for the actions and content the visitor is currently interested in). We will not presume that just because one night you were browsing Content X, that every other time you return to our sites you will want to see more of Content X shoved in your face. We let you find the content you crave whenever you are in the mood for it, and we keep the ads as relavant to your CURRENT CONTENT focus as possible. We believe our practice is a win-win for advertisers and consumers because it protects consumer privacy while still offering high relevancy to the site visitor.

Additionally, we believe most non-marketing people would describe behavioral targeting on adult entertainment sites as "creepy as hell." Who wants a digital trail documenting their late night porn benders for all posterity? Not us.
